For adults outside pregnancy, breastfeeding, and eating-disorder recovery. Calorie and training needs are individual. Fixed calorie differences do not produce constant weight change in real life.

How this tool works

Use a formula-based or observed maintenance estimate. The selected percentage produces a deficit for a lower goal weight or a surplus for a higher one. Macro starting points follow the same method as the macro calculator.

The timeline is a constant-pace illustration: daily calorie difference × 7 ÷ 7,700 gives a nominal weekly weight change. The time range is 80% to 125% of the central estimate, chosen to illustrate sensitivity, not a confidence interval. Real weight change is nonlinear. This tool does not implement or claim equivalence to NIDDK's dynamic model.

Dates compare your desired schedule with the illustration; they do not force a larger deficit. The tool does not generate weight-loss goals below BMI 18.5 or calorie scenarios below 1,200 kcal/day. These display limits are not a guarantee of nutritional adequacy.

Frequently asked questions

Will I reach the goal on the shown date?

The date illustrates a constant pace. Changes in energy needs, water, activity, and adherence can move the real timeline. Reassess with several weeks of data.

What do I do with the calorie result?

Use it in the macro calculator, customize the split, then send the targets to Remaining Macros. Review the plan with the Progress Calibrator.
